Janice Knight

I have been a member of the SBBC since 1996 when I was the first winner of the Make It Happen Award. The award helped me to gain a Diploma in Management and gave me the confidence to progress my career, firstly with J Sainsbury where I became the Site Services Manager for Homebase Distribution Centre and then as a Project Manager looking at Business Development Projects. I left Sainsburys in 1999 and set up a Distribution Operation for The Natural World. I then moved on to a Housing Regeneration Project in North London. From there I went on to work for Guinness Housing Trust as an interim HR Manager. I also started running personal development courses at the University of Bath in Swindon. In 2003 I joined Tibbett & Britten as an HR Manager at the Iceland site in Swindon. I have stayed in that role through two take-overs and now work for DHL and am currently involved in designing Leadership Development Training Modules for the company. From October 2004 – to April 2007 I also worked as a Tutor running the Women Into Enterprise courses at the University of Bath. I am a qualified Coach and Mentor and am passionate about helping people to unlock their true potential. I am indebted to a number of Business Coaches and Mentors who saw my potential and helped me to further my own career.

Maureen Inwards

I have worked in Human Resources (Personnel for those of you old enough to remember) for the last 22 years. I am presently European Human Resources Director (PP&M) for Intergraph (UK) Limited where I have been employed for the last 16 years. Intergraph, a leading global provider of spatial information management (SIM) software, is an exciting Company to work and I have been involved in many change management projects over the years. I joined the SBBC in April 1997 and have been a past Committee member taking on Treasury, Membership, Vice Chair and Chair. I currently manage the Make in Happen Award process, our annual award to women in business. The MIHA is an exciting time for the Club and we take pride in our ability to help business women in the Swindon area to progress their careers.
